The Weather was perfect and the Fairfield Hunt Club has one of the most beautiful settings for a horse show. The grass rings were perfect!  Special Thanks to CHJA for putting on a great Medal Final. The courses were tough and the testing was hard, but everyone appreciated the Judges and the job they did.

Harpur rode Friday in the Children’s Hunter 14 and Under (3′), Saturday she rode in the Modified Children’s Hunter (2′6″) and was Champion.

Next up on Sunday was the 2008 CHJA Medal Final.  She had a great ride, but she received a score of 72.5 which was not high enough to make the cut…Till Next Year!

Harpur started slow but picked up consistency as the week progressed.

For Show I she placed as follows:

  • Children’s Equitation Over Fences – 8th
  • Children’s Equitation Over Fences – 8th
  • Suitable Hunter 2′9″ – 3′ Under/Saddle – 2nd
  • Suitable Hunter 2′9″- 3′ Over Fences – 2nd
  • Suitable Hunter 2′9″ – 3′ Over Fences – 1st
  • Suitable Hunter Reserve Champion.
  • M&S Bit Of Straw – 2nd

For Show 2 she placed as follows:

  • Suitable Hunter 2′9″ – 3′ Under/Saddle – 4th
  • Suitable Hunter 2′9″ – 3′ Over Fences – 2nd
  • Suitable Hunter 2′9″ – 3′ Over Fences – 4th
  • Children’s Equitation Over Fences – 1st
  • Children’s Equitation over Fences – 7th
  • Reserve Champion- Children’s Equitation

It\'s cold!

We waited a long time for the CHJA Medal and Children’s Equitation and finally finished around 7:30 pm. Being the first outdoor show and an “A show, the classes were all large with 20 or more riders. Harpur placed 2nd in the CHJA Children’s Medal and picked up a 7th in the Children’s Equitation over fences. The second place in the CHJA Children’s Medal brings Harpur’s total points to 12 and she is now qualified for the 2008 CHJA Medal Finals in August.

After the show we had a surprise visit from Andre and Michelle who were dressed for the Kentucky Derby party not hauling horses!
